Itinerary Information

Day 1: Welcome to the Lilac Island

Upon arrival at Terceira International airport, you'll be met by your driver and taken to your hotel, located in downtown Angra do Heroismo. Spend the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site, and also the capital of the Azorean archipelago. In the evening, enjoy strolling the lilac filled streets and find a local restaurant to try the island dish, Alcatra

Day 2: Tour the Island's West Side

A morning pick up from your hotel to tour the island's west side. This tour is designed to show how volcanic eruptions shaped the island's landscape and the way of the people. Enjoy a view of the bay from the Monte Brasil, and see how the lava fields shaped the planting techniques on the island. Visit the bathing area of Biscoitos and then a quick stop at the island's wine museum. After lunch, explore the interior of the island and the famous Algar do Carvão.  The evening is yours to enjoy the city of Angra do Heroísmo.  

Day 3: Explore the Agriculture and history of Terceira

Today you explore the east side of the island to learn more about the agriculture and history of Terceira. Start with a view of the authentic patchwork fields from the Serra do Cume point. View the unique geological rock formations that the sea has carved on the north coast. After lunch at a local restaurant, take a tour of the island's second largest city, Victory Beach. At the end of the day, admire the traditional religious icons on the island with a visit to the Império do Espirito Santo in São Sebastião.

Day 4: Free Day

Today is yours to relax or explore more of the island. Book yourself on a whale watching tour to see some of the local pods of whales and bottlenose dolphins, or if the weather is nice, a snorkeling tour to the islets. 

Day 5: Until Next Time

After breakfast you’ll have some time to shop for your souvenirs or simply relax with the locals at an oceanfront café before your transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
