Cuisine is a central hallmark of Tenerife’s culture. It is a marvelous fusion between the historic and the avant-garde; mainly Spanish with South American and Moroccan influences. Potatoes, ’mojos’ sauces, ’gofio’ (a toasted corn meal), cheese, fish, and honey are all local delights.

Itinerary Information

Day 1: Arrival Day

After collecting your luggage, enjoy the ride to your 4 star property in Puerto de La Cruz. Located in the North of the island, this will be home base for the rest of your trip. Once you check in, the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy.

Day 2: Walking Tour of Puerto de La Cruz With Traditional Canarian Lunch

Today, you’ll head into town and meet your guide. Puerto de La Cruz has many highlights including the Botanical Gardens which were created in 1788 and contain one of the world's most unique collections of plants and trees from five continents, including the local Roca tree. You will also have time to visit San Telmo, Plaza del Charco, the La Ranilla district and the Taoro Park, where the Taoro Casino is located. While on tour, you’ll sit down to a delicious meal where you’ll learn about local Canarian food and wine.

Day 3: Vineyard Visits and Tapas Tour

After breakfast, spend the afternoon on a private tour led by your own personal guide. First, you’ll visit two vineyards: Bodegas Monje and Casa del Vino. Bodegas Monje is located 500 meters above sea level, the vineyard is situated on rocky ground and dry lava from the nearby volcano, but over time, the land has become very rich. Although the wine cellars were built in 1983, Bodegas Monje is a family vineyard dating to 1750. The Monje family is among Tenerife’s first wine producers, cultivating and bottling wine from the three grapes grown here — Listan Negro, Listan Blanco, and Negramoll. Here you’ll have an opportunity to taste the wines and nibble on some delicious Canarian snacks or cheese at the same time.

Day 4: Free Day

Today is yours to enjoy however you wish! You may want to check out your hotel’s spa, gym, or perhaps spend the afternoon in Peurto de La Cruz’s Botanical Gardens or Loro Parque. Loro Parque is a world-class attraction that was originally intended to be a refuge for parrots. Today, the park houses an immense diversity of animal species, integrated amidst palm trees and other exotic plants. Its commitment to conservation and sustainability has made Loro Parque one of the most recognized zoos in the world, boosting over 44 million visitors since its gates first opened in 1972.

Day 5: Mt. Teide By Night and Dinner With the Stars

This evening, you’ll visit Las Cañadas National Park, home to Mt. Teide. This park is characterized by its unique lunar landscape, and flora and fauna, seen nowhere else on earth. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, Mt. Teide an iconic attraction and must-see for visitors. Tenerife is one of the best locations on the planet for stargazing because of its clear dark skies, low light pollution and a high altitude. Due to these exceptional conditions and the activities and guides available to educate visitors, Teide National Park was awarded in late 2013 the “Starlight Tourist Destination” and “Starlight Reserve” certificates by the Starlight Foundation. This evening will also include a typical tapas dinner.

Day 6: Banana Plantation Tour

Prior to tourism, agriculture was the number one source of economic wealth for Tenerife. Bananas are still a top export for the island, so today we’ll visit a working banana plantation to learn how this fascinating business works. The plantations themselves possess a lush beauty all their own.

Day 7: La Gomera

After breakfast, discover and explore the island of La Gomera in chauffeur driven jeeps, enjoying the open air and panoramic views. Enter the Garajonay National Park and be amazed by the ancient rain forest, visit small and tranquil villages, sample traditional Gomeran cuisine in a local restaurant and discover ancient legends whilst witnessing the fascinating whistling language which you can only find on this island. This trip includes hotel pick up and drop off, ferry transportation to La Gomera, transportation within the island, lunch, and a demonstration of the Silbo language.

Day 8: Depart for home

Depart for home. Today is our last day on tour. An included transfer will take you back to the airport for your flight home... or perhaps onto another adventure!
