Itinerary Information

Day 1: Paris

Celebrate the start of your France holiday at this evening's welcome reception and relax at one of our luxurious city central hotels, such as the Marriott Opera Ambassador in the heart of Paris's popular Opera district. A world of wonder awaits you and you can look forward to fascinating new experiences in the days ahead.

Day 2: Paris > Chalon-sur-Saône

Travel across the Île-de-France countryside by coach and arrive in Chalon-sur-Saône where a warm welcome awaits you from your crew on board your luxury Scenic Space-ship. Your butler will assist you to settle into your suite. Join your Cruise Director in the Panorama Lounge for a pre-dinner toast to the beginning of your cruise before dining, in the opulent Crystal Dining restaurant this evening.  Depart Paris this morning and transfer to Chalon-sur-Saône where a warm welcome awaits as you board your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship. Over the next few days, this wonderful luxury cruise ship will be your home. Take full advantage of all the creature comforts and facilities at your disposal.

Day 3: Mâcon > Lyon

You're sure to love Mâcon. Be fascinated by its picturesque farming region renowned for its five wine appellations and gastronomy. Freechoice: Travel to the village of Oignt in the 'Golden Stone' region of Beaujolais, where you'll enjoy a tasting of the region's delicious wines. Alternatively, explore charming Cluny, built around the great Benedictine Abbey. Spend the afternoon at leisure in charming Mâcon before soaking in the landscapes of the famous Burgundy region, as you cruise to the lively city of Lyon. For those wishing to test their culinary prowess, Scenic Culinaire will be hosting a masterclass in French cuisine for your enjoyment while cruising to Lyon. 

Day 4: Lyon

Awake today in Lyon, the gastromic capital of France. 

Freechoice: Discover Lyon's historic significance by traversing its hidden traboules, secret passageways used in the local silk industry dating back to the 4th century and visit Notre Dame Basilica for a fabulous vantage point for a view across Lyon. Alternatively, walk the cobblestone paths of yesteryear in the medieval hilltop town of Perougés. For the more energetic at heart, join a guided cycling tour along the paths of Lyon to the city's Botanical Gardens and Zoo.



Day 5: Vienne > Tournon

Enjoy a city tour this morning of Vienne, an old Roman city in the absolutely lovely setting on the shores of the Rhône River. Afterwards, unwind aboard your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship as you cruise effortlessly past picturesque riverside panoramas bound for the charming town of Tournon. Enjoy a cooking class, at Scenic Culinaire, with your on board culinary team. 


Day 6: Viviers > Avignon

This morning take advantage of an included walking tour of Viviers. This delightful town, nestled between hill and river, boasts ancient homes and an unusual cathedral. Enjoy the panoramic vistas from the Sun Deck as you sail into Avignon. Then in the evening, settle back and enjoy one of the region's most entertaining French Chanson vocalists performing live for your enjoyment. What a truly wondrous day. 

Day 7: Avignon

Freechoice: Enjoy an in-depth tour of Avignon's architectural jewel, the Pope's Palace. Alternatively, take an excursion to Uzès and visit Pont du Gard, a magnificent ancient Roman aqueduct. Alternatively, ‘Shop with a Chef’ at a local food market and sample the delicious local fare. This afternoon, enjoy a day of leisure in Avignon.

Enrich: Be treated to a truly unforgettable experience at the prestigious Pope's Palace in Avignon. After the doors close to the general public, virtuoso musicians will showcase their skills by performing Mozart, Strauss, Vivaldi and Beethoven in the elegant Grand Tinel Room for your exclusive enjoyment.

Day 8: Tarascon

Relax on board as we sail onto the Provençal town of Tarascon.

Freechoice: Visit Les Baux, and drop into a local olive farm, or visit Saint-Rémy and the Saint- Paul de Mausole Monastery. Alternatively, view the Arles Arena in this once thriving Roman city.

Day 9: Tarascon > Marseille Airport

After breakfast, disembark your Scenic Space-Ship and transfer to Marseille Airport for your homebound flight. (Please book flights to depart after 1pm).
