Itinerary Information

Day 1: Bucharest

Welcome to the Romanian capital of Bucharest. Upon arrival check-in for your overnight stay at your luxurious hotel.

Day 2: Bucharest - Giurgiu

Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Bucharest. A more modern structure, Ceausescu’s imposing Palace of Parliament is the largest building in Europe; visit this before travelling to Giurgiu where your friendly dedicated staff will personally welcome you on board your luxury Scenic Space-Ship. Tonight, join your fellow guests for a welcome cocktail in the lounge.

Day 3: Silistra

Discover the Silistra Fort during an active walking tour, or take an excursion to Varna on the Black Sea coast. Alternatively, visit a local village, and learn about life in Bulgaria.

Day 4: Russe - Nikopol

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Russe. Or discover the Byzantine gem of Veliko Tarnovo and the World Heritage-listed village of Arbanassi; continue to Nikopol in Bulgaria before re-boarding your ship.

Day 5: Iron Gate

Relax on board and admire the scenery as you cruise the spectacular Iron Gate – a narrow gorge that the Danube has carved out between the Carpathianand Balkan Mountains. Not only is it a spectacular setting for a cruise, it’s also the natural border between Serbia and Romania.

Day 6: Belgrade

Join your local guide and discover one of the oldest capital cities in Europe – Belgrade. Alternatively, choose a guided bicycle ride along the Danube, or taste your way around the local market through our ‘Shop with a Chef’ offering. Or for some true insight into local life join a walking tour with a local. Raise a toast to the end of a wonderful day at the historic Kalemegdan Fortress, where you’ll get to enjoy incredible views of the place where the beautiful Danube and Sava rivers conjoin. It’s a moment to savor, and a chance to reflect on all you’ve seen and experienced, and compare notes with your companions.

Day 7: Osijek

Explore Osijek on a guided city tour, or try your hand at fishing in a local village stream. Or, if you’re the more active type, you could opt to take a blissful guided bike ride through Osijek’s countryside.

Day 8: Kalocsa

Today you’ll get to witness a traditional horse show and trace the origins of paprika during your visit to the Spice Museum.

Day 9: Budapest

Today cruise into the mighty city of Budapest, you will be awe-struck by the sheer beauty of this city. Disembark your ship and join your local guide on a tour of the city and visit both towns of Buda and Pest, linked by the famous Chain Bridge. Guarded by the two lion statues on both bridgeheads, the suspension bridge offers one of the city’s most beautiful views. You will also have the opportunity to see Heroes’ square, Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion and the medieval town on Castle Hill. Your guided tour will finish at your hotel, where you will check in for your two night stay. This evening enjoy a highlight dinner at a Hungarian restaurant.

Day 10: Budapest

Today enjoy Budapest at your leisure; perhaps wander the streets of the old town for local crafts.

Day 11: Budapest

After breakfast, prepare to head home. It may be the end of your journey, but it’s the beginning of a lifetime of fond memories.
